HELP! Makita Drill smoked? NEED HELP!?
hi! my dad got a drill from a friend, and its a sweet one, a makita 18 li-ion, its a hammer drill. makita model # BHR451
well he got it like last year, so it sat in the garage for a long time, but it was in a drawer so it could not be damaged from that.
i tried it before by putting wires from a nimh battery on it and it spinned.
so i bought 2 battaries on ebay for more then 100$ for both, i got them today, when i put the battery in the drill did not spin, the light came on but it did not spin, then when i pushed the trigger half way it made a screaching noise and after about 2 seconds i heard a pop inside, in the back area of the drill and then smoke started coming out.
so is the drill done for? this sucks cause i got 2 new battaries just sitting here. maybe i can take it apart and see what part got smoked and maybe buy that resistor or whatever it is at radioshack and replace it?
please help me!
Smoke? Yep, it's fried. Done for. I'd have the batteries checked out. If it's a faulty battery, there's the problem. Not the drill, the battery.
