how to use a hammer driver drill?
i just bought a MAKITA LXT211 and it has two wheels (i believe that those i call klutch), one wheel with numbers on it and the other wheel with three symbols (hammer, screw and a third one (I believe is the driver symbol)) and behind it on top of the drill it has a switch with the number one and two, my main q? is what are these three things for, the wheel with the number, the second wheel with the symbols, and specially the button with the numbers?
i would really appreciate an expert on it to help me out, thank you for helping me out.
The wheel with the numbers represents speed and torque. 1 is a faster speed with more torque and is used for drilling and setting screws into things like solid wood. 2 is a slower speed with less torque and is used for drilling and setting screws into delicate material. If you are drilling set the symbol to drill and if you are screwing set the symbol to screw. The hammer symbol is used to drill into things like cement and brick and you would want to set the symbol to hammer for those things and use a masonry drill bit and use the number two setting for drilling.
