back surgery!!! ruptured disc-- how tough of a surgery is this?
I am a 36 year old male in decent shape- not muscular pretty much skinny but I can hold my own, my body is toned. Spent quite a few hours behind a sledge hammer last year and received my first back injury, couldnt even walk (pinched nerve was the diagnosis)-- left me laid up for 2 wks. Now almost a year later to the day this problem comes up again. Last monday had an MRI done and got the results from my doc yesterday and he said that I need to have surgery done. He made it a point to mention that he understands how much pain that Iam feeling. I'am a carpenter and sort of afriad of this surgery -- what is the outcome???
funny u should ask but my coworker just had back sx for a herniated disc--she was only in the hospital for 3 d ays and back to work in a week, but everyone heals differently. actually, she was not in shape at all and it was pretty painless for her, so im sure it will be a breeze for u--make sure u find a reputable orthopedic surgeon though!
