How do I remove front brake rotors from a 2005 Nissan Altima? What tools do I need?
I bought the car brand new and this is the first time that the car needs its brakes worked on. I’ve never done a brake job before, but I’ve done some other things myself on other cars such as changing shocks, a power steering pump, and a radiator.
I ordered the repair manual, but I’m asking this question because I was wondering if there’s anything I should know that isn’t covered in the manual. Regarding tools, I have a socket set and a ball peen hammer. What else do I need?
The only other thing you may need is a set of hex-keys because some cars(not sure on yours) require them to remove the caliper. Other than that you should be set. Make sure to be safe and use jack stands and a bar for some extra leverage may help in removing the bolts.
