Are you allowed to drive your parents' car with their permission without auto insurance?
I just wanted to know if I can drive my parents' car legally without auto insurance. I live in Virginia, if that is helpful.
I have a license. Just no auto insurance... yet.
Depending on how old you are, if you have a drivers license and your parents' permission, in some states you can legally drive their vehicle and be covered by their insurance, because the insurance covers the vehicle.
I know it is true in my state up to age 25 but I don't know for sure about Virginia.
If you have a valid drivers license and you are ticketed, you will receive the ticket, not your parents. But your parents' insurance will cover damages to the vehicle and to other property not belonging to you.
Don't bother asking your agent because it is in their best interest if you are insured individually from your parents.
