Dead Blow Mallet
Would you use a mallet or dead blow hammer to fix a wooden chair?

I have a set of varnished wood chairs. The cross beams are coming loose and need to be put back in place. Should I use a mallet or a dead blow hammer to secure them? When they are back in place should I leave them be or put wood glue or loc-tite in the holes to keep them in place?

The hammers for wood working i have seen were made of wood hollowed out with lead pellets inside that were loose. This to me would be more like a dead blow than a mallet. I would use some wood glue on them and get some ratchet straps to hold the legs tight on the cross beam(s) while the glue dries. 24hours in the straps to be on the safe side.

Thanks for looking at our Dead Blow Mallet information.
