I've hammered a nail into a gas pipe, any idea how much it will cost to get sorted?
An emergency gas engineer came out and said that I will have to get a corgi engineer to either re-route the pipe or remove a section of the wall. I'm worried that it is going to cost a lot, and was wondering if it had happened to anyone, or anyone can advise me on what to do, or give me an idea of the price.
I will assume that this is a corrugated, flexible gas line. Depending on the length of the pipe, will determine how extensive the repair will be. A good serviceman, can start with a small inspection hole, and determine the direction the line is running, and open up only enough wall to access the problem area. If the pipe is running vertically, maybe just a small hole will be required, but if it is running horizontally, then it is harder to determine where the line originates. Call around, and get some estimates, from local companies, before deciding on who will fix the problem. Good luck!
