Q1Graphite is a form of carbon which has a very high melting point. It conducts electricity well, is a very dark grey colour and can be slightly shiny, although you cant see your reflection in it. It has a low density and shatters when you hit it with a hammer. would You classify graphite as a metal explain your reasoning??
thanks.
Q2 State one property for the metal that makes it suitable for its use.
a copper in electrical wiring

c Bronze for coins and medals
d brass for bells
e stainless steel for cutlery
f gold for jewellery
g aluminium for saucepans
h iron for making weights for bodybuilders...
Thanks in advance
Q1 Graphite is not a metal because atoms of carbon are bonded in covalent way, they don't have metal bonding, because carbon is an element of the IV group of the periodic table.
