How do I connect brass to brass?
Basically I have to connect 2 flat plates together. I'm hoping to find some method of connecting them with out using a screw and bolt. The less I have punching out of these 2 plates the better.
I've already tried soldering and super glue. I do not have access to any large industrial tools but any ideas would be helpful
Brass is usually brazed with a low temperature torch. Are you putting one directly on top of the other like a sandwich or connecting the two plates end for end?
- if your putting one directly over the other, try a product like "the amazing automotive goop" I think permatex makes it. Funny name, but beleive me you'll never get those plates apart again. Make sure you clean the parts with iso 99%alcohol or windex first though.
- if your joining the ends brazing is really the only non-bolting way their going to stay together.
