How to soften up my punching bag?

i have gotten a punching bag, 70lbs i think. and in some places its like punching rock. the other places are fine just some spots, like i said punching a rock. how can i fix this. my punching bag isnt leather, its ether nylon or canvas. how can i make it softer and just less hard. i want it hard but not like rock. do i have to take it down and take out all the cloth in it?

If you have had the bag for awhile and have been hitting it a lot most of the fill will tighten up near the bottom where you aren't hitting it very much. Best thing to do is to take it off the hooks and put it on the floor and roll it around. Use a bat to hit the hard spots to loosen it up. If there is too much fill in the bag you should be able to open it up and remove some of it. Make sure you redistribute and reshape the bag so that it is uniform.
