Where can I find a replacement trunk lid for my car?
I am the owner of a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally edition.
A few weeks ago, while I was at a party, someone attempted to take the spoiler from my car. However, the spoiler is bolted to the trunk lid, so they ended up using something sharp and metallic (most likely the nail-pulling end of a hammer or a crowbar) to tear the spoiler off. They also damaged the rear bumper in the process.
This left me with no spoiler, and a badly damaged trunk lid, and a broken rear bumper. My question is: where can I find a replacement trunk lid/spoiler and rear bumper? I've searched all over the net with no results. So i'm asking you guys.
Does anyone know where I can find replacement parts? Would the manufacturer still carry these parts, even though the car is 6 years old by now?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The on-line wrecking yard database in the source turns up a lot of hits for that part, called a trunk lid/hatch, in my area. With that many hits you may even find one that already matches the paint color. I see there are several variations, including no spoiler, or 2 or 3 bolt spoiler. You should try to stick with the style you had (judging by the remains of your trunk lid) but the others probably fit just fine. Looks like the going price is $200 - $350 in Arizona.
