Reverse drill to open a valve?
I need to open a penstock valve. Here's the problem: my drill will close it but will not then open it back up again. I have one device which goes both ways but is extremely slow (15 minutes to open). The valve needs a fairly large amount of torque so standard SDS drills will not do the job. My drill, the Makita HR4000C takes an SDS max bit which I have been told do not come in reverse because of the clutch system. The HR4000C has approximate power of 1000W(9.6AMPS*110V) and weighs 13.6lbs.
Anyone have an idea of what I need to do this job right?
The valve needs a 3/4" socket to open and I have adapters for SDS/max drill bits.
