Why is the shaft used to remove the minors trapped in chile drilled at an 80 degree angle?
Why isn't it at 90 degrees? That would be the obvious angle to choose to me, the 80 degrees seems a little particular.
They had to clear a flat spot on the top of a mountain to set up the drills. The cavity where the miners are is not directly under the mountain so they had to drill at an angle to hit the cavity.
