How do I remove a broken bit from an impact drill?
Bit broke while using my Bosch impact drill. None of it is sticking out so can't get a grip on the bit. Magnet didn't work either. It is self tightening and cannot loosen without a grip on bit... Any ideas on how to loosen or get broken bit out?
Is it a SDS chuck, or Three jaw clamp type? if it is an SDS chuck, you should be able to pull back on the sleeve and maybe tap it a couple of times and have it drop out.
If it is a three jaw chuck you may have gotten a "burr" from spinning the bit in the chuck, open the chuck with your chuck key and tap the bit "stub" with a center punch or nail set to break it free.
This should not be a major problem
