What type of drill is best for cutting into a concrete manhole?
I need to run a new soil pipe into the drainage manhole, but I don't know what drill I should hire. It's really tough, and there may be some steel reinforcements. I've burnt out a hammer drill already, so I need something heavy duty.
Any suggestions,? - Preferably ones you've used before.
Hi, You can NOT use any type of core drill because the reinforcing will just rip off the cutting teeth, the only way to do it is by stitch drilling & then use a big hammer & chisel to knock concrete out & hack saw for reinforcing, Stitch drilling = Draw around pipe or collar then drill series of 10mm holes with a Hilti or similar, or FCUK hired core bits as other's have advised.
