Can you drill a glass bottle?
I want to drill a hole through a bottle but i dont want to buy a diamond drill bit. if i just use a normal drill bit and fill the bottle with water will it work? and start with a small bit then move up to a bigger bit. about a 1/4in of a dia. thanks
I don't think a normal drill-bit would work. Glass (quartz) is harder than steel, though I think not that much harder, so I am not sure about some specialty steels, but then you'd have to buy a drill-bit anyway. But I would expect a normal drillbit just to leave a few scratches at best.
Diamond is definitely harder than glass, therefore you can use that to drill through glass. Even then it will require some patience.
