Need to drill into Ceramic tile. Diamond or Carbide?
I have about 20 holes I need to make into ceramic tile and after using the carbide bit, I notice its taking me a helluva long time to get through one hole. I've been considering trying a diamond bit.
Is there a noticeable difference between the two? Would a diamond drill bit cut the time in half compared to the time it takes to drill with a carbide tip?
I suggest using a "Glass and Tile " bit. They are carbide I believe. They make a world of difference but they are also very expencive. For me anyways. They will go through those in a flash. Once you get through the baked finish on the tiles keep putting drops of water on it as that keeps the bit from getting dull. Don't go too fast either as these bits will really cut into them. Go slow, use water. Bye
