Please help me use my old panasonic record player, what is the jack hammer thingie?
I want to play a record on an old machine but it has a bar going across that won't let me put the record on. I don't know what this bar is for and I don't want to break it. Please help!!!
Are you referring to the bar or arm that holds records in place for automatic feeding like in this photo?

If so, just lift it up and turn it to the side, then slide your record down the center to the turntable. Return the arm back to its original position. If you want to automatically feed records, place additional disks above the tab in the center stem, then place the arm on top of them as you can see in the photo.
